Bayside Cottages

Overlooking Rosario Strait, Bayside Cottages sits on a quiet 12-acre waterfront setting offering stunning easterly views toward the islands of Lummi, Cypress and Sinclair with Mt. Baker in the background. Each of the ten cottages has easy access to a private beach. In addition, Wisteria Cottage is separately located in the heart of Eastsound Village on an acre of land with a small orchard.

Build over a period of 25 years by the owners Jim and Betsy Nelson (who bought the property in 1979), these 11 cottages are the perfect place for a romantic getaway, a relaxing family vacation or a side trip for the business traveler.

Cottages for Just Two or the Whole Family

Ranging from 300 to 2,000 square feet, the largest is hardly a cottage at all. Aptly named the Beach House, this farmhouse style home with two bedrooms and two baths is situated right on the water. The wood beamed ceilings and hardwood floors give it a warm comfortable feel while the 30-foot-long wall of glass in the sunroom highlights the dramatic view of Mt. Baker and the nearby islands.

Other waterfront cottages include Bayside Cottage and Peapod Cottages (with two adjoining living areas). Upland cottages include Plum Tree, Lummi, and Cypress Cottages and each offer panoramic water views. Unique among this seaside village is The Barn Loft. Located on the upper floor of a converted barn, it greets you with vaulted, beamed ceilings, hardwood floors and many windows looking out to the woods.

Our family has been using the Bayside for our reunions for the past 10 years. We once thought of going to another location in the state and the rest wouldn't hear of it.
